My body is still a little sore from my
exhausting amazing day at the Motor City Casino Hotel for the city’s biggest fashion event of the year: Fashion in Detroit. Presented by Denise Ilitch (Denise Ilitch Designs) and Joe Faris (Project Runway, Motor City Blues), this event showcased some of the best local designers and brands, along with a new concept, the Detroit Market, where these designers and other local businesses had merchandise on display and for sale.
Fashion in Detroit is just around the corner; the countdown begins today! If you live in the Detroit/Metro Detroit area you should go buy your ticket now! Denise Ilitch and Joe Faris have a great show put together for everyone. It’s going to be amazing so don’t miss it!
I’m glad to announce that this upcoming March I will be working with Rachel, director of Social Media for Fashion in Detroit… More details tomorrow!
It seems to be that the weather in Michigan likes to tease us, one day with bits of snow here and there, and then sunny skies and highs of 50 the next. Today was not the exception: I looked out my window and thought to myself, “Damn, I’m gonna have to change.” I decided to give my shorts-and-tights outfit a try before I actually made myself late to work by going upstairs and changing and what do you know! A little windy but it was actually comfortable to walk out in.
Anyway, let us rejoice, for the Fashion in Detroit press release is out! The dates have been set for March 10th of this year, and the event will again be hosted at the Motor City Casino in Downtown Detroit. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster or at the Motor City Casino box office. Make sure you get yours soon! The event is expected to sell out.
This weekend I will be attending the Thrift Store Crawl, hosted by FASH DET: Fashion Bloggers of Detroit, an organization which I have just joined. Thanks to Shaunah from Pens and Pencilskirts , I am slowly discovering more and more fashion events in the city. Big thank yous! The event will take place in thrift/vintage stores in Royal Oak, including That Girl Clothing, Lost and Found, Chocolate Shop Vintage, Paris and Salvation Army. If thrifting is your thing, join us! You can click here to see the full details of the event.
New followers, HELLO! I’m glad this space is getting viewed, and so quickly too! if you have any suggestions, comments, or just wanna meet for coffee, you can always send me a message. Hopefully this website will kick off as far as I want it to.
10. If you suddenly find yourself panicking that your life isn’t going anywhere like I did yesterday, write a list of all the things you’re currently doing, and all the things you want to be doing. The difference between successful people and not successful people is that successful people set themselves goals, then exert all their energy figuring out how to achieve them. Not successful people focus on the negatives, then exert all their energy worrying about everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong or probably will go wrong. We create our own realities – positive thinking is powerful, as is the opposite. Be positive!
Wise words to live by, eh?
